A modern-day
Mariners Fish & Chips, established by Gordon & Michele, started life in a derelict newsagents in 2002. Gordon is a third generation fish & chip shop owner and second generation fishmonger.
The speciality batter used at Mariners is Gordon's Grandmother's original recipe and the diverse menu is a modern take on the traditional fish & chip shop. We serve cod and haddock alongside a variety of local fish caught by day boats around the Falmouth Bay.
We are located in the centre of Penryn's Lower Market Street. Recommended parking is located at the back of our shop accessed via Permarin Road, turn-off from Commercial Road.

“Superb fish and chips and massive kids portions!
We stayed in a cottage around the corner and walked passed this takeaway that looked lovely. We picked up a menu and decided to get a takeaway for the next evening. With the covid situation its best to call in advance and place your order and pick up. We ordered 3 kids fish specials which were huge ...in fairness one would have feed 3 kids but you can't complain that the portions were too small :). There is a large selection of local fish and lots of extras like tempura prawns (which were surprisly great) ...No complains from 7 very happy people."

“Ordered dinner for 7 people and we were served promptly and out the door with our food in good time. All our food was cooked fresh in front of us and tasted great. The shop was very busy but the staff behind the counter clearly had a good system going and customers were getting their orders promptly. Absolutely spot on, thanks for a lovely dinner!"
